Juveniles Charged With Beating, Robbing Windsor Locks Man

The assault and robbery took place late Wednesday night on Chestnut Street, police said.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A pair of juveniles were arrested late Wednesday night in connection with the robbery and beating of a 20-year-old man.

Around 11:10 pl.m., police received a call from a woman on Chestnut Street, saying her son had been beaten up and robbed of his iPhone 6. The victim said he had been outside an apartment complex when he was approached by two black males, one of whom was known to him, police said.

One of the males began forcibly going through the pockets of the victim, while the other punched him and stole the iPhone, the victim told police. Both youths then fled on foot.

A police officer, assisted by a police canine, tracked the two males to another residence on Chestnut, where they were taken into custody, police said.

The victim suffered scrapes to his body and face. The iPhone was recovered, but damaged, according to police.

A 17-year-old male was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. The second male, 15, was charged with criminal liability to commit second-degree robbery. Both were transported to Juvenile Detention, police said.

Neither male was identified due to their age.
