Man Arrested For Thefts From Cars In Windsor Locks: PD

Police have arrested Gearoid O'Conner following a recent string of thefts from vehicles.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Police have made an arrest after a recent string of thefts from unlocked cars. Gearoid O'Conner, 34, was charged with simple trespass, third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, and interfering with police.

Police received a call from the area of 477 North St. reporting a suspicious person Monday at around 8 p.m. The homeowner said his security camera system alerted him that there was outdoor motion in the driveway.

He looked out of the window and saw the man standing next to his vehicle with the passenger door open. The homeowner yelled at the suspect who ran away.

Police then searched the area and found the suspect who fled on foot. He was found again on Marshall Road after mutual aid was called in and a K-9 unit tracked down the suspect, who was identified as O'Conner.

Police later searched O'Conner's room at a Motel 6 and found numerous other suspected stolen goods.

His bond was set at $100,000 and he was scheduled to appear today in Enfield Superior Court.
