Man Dragged, Overpowered Girlfriend During Dispute: Windsor Locks Police
The man faces assault charges after the woman eventually escaped and drove directly to the Windsor Locks Police Department.

Windsor Locks police charged a man with assaulting his girlfriend after a verbal argument escalated into a fight at an Old County Road residence.
Police arrested Jamie Benton, 39, on June 22 and charged him with third-degree assault, breach of peace and first-degree unlawful restraint.
Police said that during the argument, Benton allegedly grabbed the woman and wouldn’t let her to leave and overpowered her.

The woman was dragged while being yelled at and she eventually escaped but was again attacked while inside her vehicle, according to police.
The woman struggled to free herself as Benton grabbed for the car keys, according to police, but she was able to get him off of her and she drove directly to the Windsor Locks Police Department.

Benton was held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on June 22.
