WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College student Danielle Sica of East Windsor has earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2023 semester. Sica is majoring in nursing. Dean's List honors are awarded to full-time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

• Sean Michael Donahue of Windsor Locks, a senior majoring in global supply chain management, was named a Presidential Scholar for the spring 2023 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

Goodwin University, East Hartford CT

• Nicole Bowden of East Windsor earned a place on Goodwin University's President's List for the spring 2023 session. The spring 2023 President's List includes 270 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Husson University, Bangor ME

• Windsor Locks resident, Austin Tomalonis has been named to Husson University's Honors List for the spring 2023 semester. During the spring semester, Tomalonis was enrolled in Husson's Bachelor of Science in business administration program. Students who make the Honors List must be enrolled as an undergraduate student, carry a full-time load of 12 credit hours, complete all attempted courses in the time allotted for the semester, and achieve a 3.40 to 3.59 semester grade-point average.

Lasell University, Newton MA

• Alexys Suojanen of Windsor Locks graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lasell University with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Graduates were recognized at the University's 169th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• On May 20, 2023, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute awarded a total of 1,988 degrees - 152 doctoral degrees, 390 master's degrees, and 1,446 bachelor's degrees - to 1,957 students, some of whom earned multiple degrees. Catherine Fiedler of Windsor Locks graduated with an ME in systems engineering and tech management.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

• Samantha Gough of Windsor Locks recently traveled to Italy as part of a pilgrimage sponsored by the Stonehill College Chapel Choir. While abroad, the choir shared their musical talents with parishioners at St. Peter's Basilica, considered one of the holiest sites in the world. They also performed at the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi and the Basilica of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome. Before returning to the United States, the students represented the College at a Papal Audience, joining thousands gathered in St. Peter's Square to see Pope Francis.

Western Connecticut State University, Danbury CT

• Destiny Gonzalez of Windsor Locks, majoring in biology, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2023 semester at WCSU.
