Multi-Sports Complex Proposed For Windsor Locks

The proposed venue would include hotels, shopping and dozens of indoor and outdoor playing surfaces.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A 76-acre parcel off Route 20 which had been eyed as a potential casino site by town officials could now boast a huge mega-sports complex, according to plans submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

JABS Sports Management LLC filed a general plan of development Monday for the complex, which would be constructed on a tobacco farm between Interstate 91 and Old County Road. Plans call for an outdoor stadium and indoor arena, with synthetic turf playing surfaces for numerous sports, the Hartford Business Journal reported.

Other features at the site would include dormitories, a fitness center, medical offices, a pair of hotels and shopping venues.
