New England Air Museum's April School Vacation Activities April 9th-April 24th
Family Fun for all Ages!
Explore three giant hangars filled with over 80 aircraft and experience the wonders of flight. A variety of activities will be offered daily including hands-on build and fly challenges, open cockpit experiences aboard real aircraft, aircraft scavenger hunts, and more! The Museum's Flight Sim Spot will also be open daily between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Flight Sim Spot allows visitors to use state-of-the-art simulators using real cockpit controls and suitable for ages 10 and up. In addition, docents will be on hand to interact with the visitors. Additional activities are scheduled for the following days:
Monday, April 11th - Aeromodeling Workshop- 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Build and fly an AMA Delta Dart model airplane with help from our expert aeromodelers. Requires the purchase of a $5.00 Delta Dart kit. Modelers must be age 10 or older.

Wednesday, April 13th- Pinwheel Helicopters- 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
How do pinwheels spin? How do helicopters fly? Learn how by building your own pinwheel helicopter.
Thursday, April 14th- Constellation Viewers- 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Discover the secrets of the night sky, learn the history of constellations, and build your own paper portal to the stars.
Friday, April 15th- LEGO Flying Machine Contest- 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Back by popular demand! Create a fantastic fantasy flying machine and enter to win a prize from our Wings ‘N Things Gift Shop. Contestants need not be present to win.

Tuesday, April 19th - Mini Open Cockpit- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Climb aboard real aircraft including helicopters, jet fighters and WWII era aircraft.
Wednesday, April 20th - Parachute Drop- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Design a parachute that will take the longest to reach the ground with a given weight.
Thursday, April 21st - Extreme Paper Airplanes- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Put your paper airplane folding skills to the test! Using only a single sheet of paper, visitors will construct and fly a paper airplane for distance.
Friday, April 22nd - Straw Rocket Challenge- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Using a compressed air launcher, design a rocket built around a drinking straw and launch it to a specific target.
Activities are included with the price of admission on the day of your visit except where noted.
