Obituary: William R. Cegalis, 73, Of East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, CT - William R. Cegalis, 73, of East Windsor, died on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his home. He was born in Hartford, lived in Poquonock, East Granby, 25 years in West Suffield and in East Windsor since 2003.
He hit the first grand slam home run and pitched the first no hitter in the history of East Granby Little League baseball and throughout his life was an avid sports and equity/fixed income mutual funds enthusiast; he retired in 1990. Bill honorably served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the US Navy.

Bill leaves his cousins, June Danner, Virginia Danner, Joanne Millett, niece Karen Cegalis and nephew Stefan Cegalis as well as friend Dave Will, close friends and neighbors, Joe Malenfant and his wife Luce of East Windsor and his much loved dog, Charlie. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Elise Cegalis, brother, Jack Cegalis, aunts and uncles, Veronica and Mike Smalley, Jo and Dick Danner and John Cegalis.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, November 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Avenue, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial and military honors will take place in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
