One Man Team from East Windsor Continues to Excel On the Links
East Windsor High School golfer AJ Ouimet is seeking to defend his Division IV individual state championship.

EAST WINDSOR, CT - Not having a full team doesn't seem to bother East Windsor High School golfer AJ Ouimet in the least. He just goes out onto the courseΒ every day, does his thing and continues to shine.
Playing as an individual, the medalist of the 2015 Division IV championships at Tallwood Country Club in Hebron swings alongside the Enfield High School team for practice and matches. Most of the time, he emerges as the low scorer, as he did Thursday with a 1-under par 35 at Topstone Golf Course in South Windsor.
"He'll be in the running for the championship again this year," Enfield coach Bill Walpole said. "He is very competitive, very focused and very confident. He is also very knowledgable about the game, like a human rule book."

Ouimet began turning heads as a freshman in 2013, when he tied for fifth with a 77 at the Division IV championships at Crestbrook Park in Watertown. He slumped to a tie for 30th as a sophomore, but rebounded to capture the individual title by a four-shot margin last year, firing an even-par 72 at Tallwood Country Club in Hebron.
His junior year was highlighted by a mind-goggling 6-under par 30 on the front nine at Cedar Knob Golf Course in Somers, where Enfield plays its home matches. His best effort this season was a 4-under par 32 on the same nine on May 5.

He is headed to Central Connecticut State University this fall, where he will play Division 1 golf.
"He should do very well there," Walpole said. "He's a complete player, and has matured a lot in the last two years."
