EAST WINDSOR, CT — For the first 2021 offering of this periodic informal history series, highlighting businesses from East Windsor's past and what those locations look like today, we check out the 1981 edition of the East Windsor High School yearbook, The Archive, and find the East Windsor Tool & Die Co. at 87 South Main St.

Founded in 1964 by World War II U.S. Navy veteran Peter Putriment, the manufacturing company worked extensively with Pratt & Whitney over the course of three decades. Putriment's wife Pauline was secretary of the corporation, and the couple was very active in the East Windsor community. They donated to many local charities, sponsored youth baseball, and Pauline served a stint as chairperson of the East Windsor Democratic Town Committee.

Peter Putriment passed away in Dec. 1996 at age 73, and his wife died 10 years later at 84.
