EAST WINDSOR, CT — The latest installment of this periodic informal series highlighting businesses from East Windsor's past, and what those locations look like today, brings us back more than six decades, to the 1959 edition of the East Windsor High School yearbook, the Archive.

Rather than a real photo, today's offering is actually a drawing of a business: the Broad Brook Lumber & Coal Co. Located at 56 Depot Street in the village of Broad Brook, the building was constructed in 1940, according to town property records.

In 1964, the company was purchased and made into a Kelly-Fradet retail and wholesale store. It remained that way for 37 years until being sold in 2001.
