Picture East Windsor - Then And Now

An old photograph and brief story from East Windsor's past, and how that site appears today.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — The latest installment of this periodic informal series, highlighting businesses from East Windsor's past and what those locations look like today, brings us to a spot which provided more than a decade of tremendous family fun on Route 140.

The Fun City Golf Center at 20 North Road was initially a driving range on land encompassing just under seven acres, but in 1999, a 750 linear foot track with 14 go-karts was added. The small building where patrons paid for their rides or range balls was also home to an ice cream parlor.

The name changed to East Windsor Golf & Track in the late 2000s, but sometime around 2014, the facility went out of business. The property was purchased in late 2017 for $918,000, according to East Windsor land records. Currently under construction at the site is Water Mill Landing, a community for active and independent 55+ living.
