Plans Changed for Proposed Windsor Locks Outlet Mall

An Indiana development firm had announced its intention last August to construct a 350,000 square foot outlet mall just off Route 20.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Plans for a proposed premium outlet mall in Windsor Locks have been withdrawn by the prospective developer, according to the Journal Inquirer.

Plans for the Hartford Premium Outlets mall, which would have been built on 76 acres owned by O.J. Thrall Inc. off Route 20, were suspended Friday by the Simon Property Group, an Indianapolis-based developer.

The Windsor Locks Planning and Zoning Commission had approved a zoning change last fall to help expedite the development following the Simon Group's announcement of its intention to build a 350,000 square foot outlet mall, the J.I. said.
