Renters Rebate Program

Renters Applicants must be 65 years old by December 31, 2016 or be permanently disabled as defined by Social Security and rented

The Town of East Windsor Human Services will begin taking applications for the State of Connecticut Renters Rebate Program which runs from April 1 to October 1. This program provides a onetime payment to renters based on income, rent and utilities that were paid in the year (2016). Applicants must be 65 years old by December 31, 2016 or be permanently disabled as defined by Social Security and be at least 18 years of age by December 31, 2016. The income limits (including Social Security) are as follows: Single-$34,600.00; Married- $42,200.00. To make an appointment or any questions please call (860) 623-2430 and ask for Lori Butenas. Appointments will be taken at Human Services.

Copy of your 2016 Federal Income Tax Return (If you are required to file)

Copies of your non-taxable income must also be provided (For example: Veteran’s Disability Payments, Pensions, Federal SSI, Alimony, Unemployment, and Workers Comp. ETC.)

Proof of your expenses (Calendar year 2016 for the following)

Rent, Electric, Gas, Water, and Deliverable Fuel Expenses

  • Need Rent Receipts from January-December 2016 or Letter by Landlord stating what you paid the entire year of 2016
  • Electric, Gas, Water, and Deliverable Fuels, you should call each vendor and request a payment history for the year 2016 and they will mail it to you.
