Report Issued On Wild Stolen Car Chase And Crash in East Windsor

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Glastonbury man wound up with a first-degree larcency charge, a reckless driving charge, a drunken driving charge and six other charges after a wild pursuit involving a stolen car that ended with a crash in East Windsor, state police said.

State police released a report on the incident Tuesday. It took place Monday at 2:57 p.m. The suspect and driver, identified as 32-year-old Glastonbury resident Scott Kaminski was apprehended on Route 140 in East Windsor after the car flipped in a crash with a dump truck.

Waterbury police had attempted to stop the white, 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then relayed its description to state police. It was spotted heading into north central Connecticut near a rest area on Interstate-84 eastbound in Southington, according to a report.

The Jeep continued on I-84, left the highway at Exit 42, struck several vehicles in both West Hartford and Hartford and continued north on South Main Street, according to a report.

Police were chasing him the whole time, according to a report.

The Jeep then headed east on Route 140 into East Windsor, where it hit a dump truck and another vehicle and flipped over near the Shoham Road intersection, according to a report. Kaminski was then taken Hartford Hospital and later arrested, state police said.

He was charged with:

• First-degree larceny
• Interfering
• Engaging police in a pursuit
• Reckless driving
• Operating under suspension
• Possession of narcotics
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Prescription container violation
• Driving under the influence

Kaminski also had two warrants out of Manchester, state police said.
