Bridge Closure Now Set For This Weekend After Storm Delay

East Windsor police said construction postponed by snow will move forward Saturday afternoon into Sunday.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Construction on the Route 140 bridge leading into Windsor Locks is now scheduled to take place this weekend after being postponed due to last week’s snowstorm.

The East Windsor Police Department said the bridge will be closed from 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, through 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, as crews complete planned construction work.

During the closure, access to the Montgomery Mills apartment complex will be maintained, but drivers will need to use I-91 Exit 42 and approach from the west side of the bridge. Police said an officer will be stationed at the Bridge Street and South Water Street intersection to help divert traffic and assist motorists.
