Support for expectant parents

The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV), serves families residing in the communities of East Windsor and Windsor Locks. Enrollment begins prior to the 27th week of pregnancy and continues until the child turns 5 years old.  Families receive free in home visitation which provides information, support, and encouragement to promote maternal and child health, and help parents succeed in parenting. This program aims to enhance the relationship between parents and their children and strives to foster optimal child development during the crucial early years of life. Home visitors assist with access to prenatal care, help prepare families for the birth of their child, and utilize the nationally recognized Parents as Teachers curriculum designed to support the parent and child as they learn and grow together. MIECHV also provides father-focused programs including individual support and weekly groups utilizing the nationally recognized 24/7 Dads curriculum. Families who are enrolled in the program are also invited to monthly group connections with other parents in the community. All services are free, voluntary, and kept confidential. For more information about eligibility and program enrollment please call 860-370-9397 or 860-305-5565. Information may also be provided through email at marisad@miechv.necoxmail.com.
