United Expands Bradley Service

The new route adds a major connecting hub for summer and year-round travel, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — United Airlines will add a new nonstop route from Bradley International Airport to George Bush Intercontinental Airport, airport officials announced in a release.

The year-round service is scheduled to begin Thursday, May 21, and will operate daily on a Boeing 737-800, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority.

“This flight will offer greater convenience to those traveling to the Houston area and allow passengers to connect to other destinations within United’s global network,” Michael W. Shea, executive director and CEO of the Connecticut Airport Authority, said in a statement.

United officials said the new route is timed for peak summer planning and expands access beyond the two cities. “This route is an exciting addition to United’s route network and provides our customers with greater access to not only the two cities, but to destinations around the world with one-stop connections through Houston,” Mark Weithofer, United’s managing director of domestic network planning, said.

In addition to Houston, United currently flies from Bradley to its hubs in Chicago (ORD), Denver (DEN) and Washington, D.C. (IAD), according to airport officials.
