Vernon Teen Charged With DUI In East Windsor Wrong-Way Crash
Two vehicles collided head-on in East Windsor Thursday.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — State police have charged a Vernon teen in a Thursday wrong-way driving incident on a highway ramp in East Windsor.
The crash took place at 3:53 p.m. Thursday on the Interstate 91 northbound Exit 45 off-ramp, state police said.
According to a crash report, troopers determined that a 2021 Honda Passport was traveling southbound on the northbound off-ramp and collided with a 2011 GMC Sierra head-on.

The driver of the Honda Passport was identified as 18-year-old Jaiden Henry McManus of Vernon. Troopers determined that McManus was driving while intoxicated, according to a crash report.
McManus was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, wrong-way driving on a limited-access highway, failure to maintain the proper lane and driving without a license.

State police said McManus was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on April 18.
The driver of the GMC, a 56-year-old East Windsor resident, suffered a minor injury, state police said.
McManus was not injured and neither was a 20-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Honda. Another passenger, a 27-year-old man, suffered a minor injury, state police said.
