WEATHER ALERT: Windsor Locks, East Windsor Facing Below Zero Wind Chills; Possible Snow Threat Late Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued two weather advisories and a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Remember when there was a dearth of snow this winter? On the heels of this week’s storm, Mother Nature is continuing her efforts to make up for lost time — including this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, snow should stop around noon or 1 p.m. this afternoon after dumping another couple of inches on the area. Up to an additional inch of snow is possible.

Wind advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Wind chill advisory in effect from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. Saturday.

Wind chills will be dangerously low early on Saturday when it will feel like 16 below zero at times. Wind gusts could reach 35 mph.

Snow threat late Sunday into Monday.

The National Weather Service says another storm may bring accumulating snow to the region as it passes south of New England. But the weather service adds it has “low confidence” at this time in the storm becoming a reality for the area.

If it does snow, it wouldn’t start until likely after the Super Bowl with the weather service predicting that snow will begin after 11 p.m. on Sunday.
