Windsor Locks Coronavirus Update: Hotel Furloughs Employees

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel will furlough 63 employees Monday, according to a document filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor. The hotel is located near Bradley International Airport at 16 Ella T. Grasso Turnpike.

The number represents most of the staff. This round of furloughs went into effect April 6 and impacted numerous staff positions including servers, room and laundry attendants, bartenders, stewards, cooks and front-desk staff, and others.

The letter to the state indicated that the pandemic has "crippled our company's business."

However, the furloughs are expected to be temporary.
