Windsor Locks/Ellington/East Granby Swimmer Places at State Meet

The Class M girls swimming championships took place Wednesday at the Southern Connecticut State University pool.

NEW HAVEN, CT — For the third time in four years, athletes from Lauralton Hall turned in outstanding performances to capture the team title at the CIAC Class M girls swimming championships Wednesday in the pool at Southern Connecticut State University.

Despite winning just two of the 12 individual events, Lauralton Hall compiled 600 points to easily outdistance runner-up North Haven, which had 464. Brookfield was a close third with 445.

The Lauralton Hall program has now accumulated six Class M championships, four Class S titles and a State Open crown since 1989.

One Class M record (MR) was broken during the meet, while a trio of swimmers each won two individual events.
