Windsor Locks Eyes $45 Million Mixed-Use Project
The town is moving forward with plans on a mixed-use project that would accompany construction of a new train station.
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT— Despite use of the Hartford Line plummeting in recent weeks due to the state's lockdown, plans for a new train station and accompanying $45 million mixed-use project appear to be moving forward, the Hartford Business Journal reported.
Officials are eyeing a mixed-use development around the Main Street station that would include several properties with new housing, commercial space, and an indoor public market. A request for proposals will go out to contractors in the near future, according to the Hartford Business Journal.
The new $65-million Hartford Line station on Main Street is slated to replace the current train station on the town's south end. The new location will be downtown in an effort to increase usability.
