Windsor Locks Man Breaks Up Morning Routine with Lottery Win

EAST WINDSOR, CT — An Windsor Locks man was not shy about calling a big lottery jackpot a dream come true.

“I always imagined winning a check like this! It’s the biggest prize I’ve won,” Bryan Buckingham said of his recent $10,000 KENO win. “It’s unbelievable, I had absolute jitters all day.”

It was the normal morning routine for Buckingham when his luck struck at JJ News on Main Street in Windsor Locks.

“It’s my coffee and chocolate milk stop in the morning, right before work. I couldn’t contain my excitement,” he said.

Buckingham said he replayed his KENO ticket, which features a combination of family birthdays.

He matched 7 out of 7 numbers on his $2 ticket in game No. 180622 resulting in a $10,000 prize.

The big KENO win comes at the right time, Buckingham said.

“I’m buying a house next year so this will be hugely helpful," he said.

To play KENO, a play slip is completed by the customer who chooses 1 to 10 spots (numbers from 1 to 80), or selects a Quick Pick.

Customers choose how much to wager on each game, and the number of consecutive games to play.

A “Bonus Multiplier” option can be added for a chance to win bigger prizes.

Of the 2,900 lottery retailers, approximately 560 have KENO monitors where customers can view KENO drawings. Results are also available on the CT Lottery’s Mobile App (download from the App Store and Google Play). Ticket Checkers are available at all retailer locations.
