Windsor Locks Man Charged With Medicaid Fraud

A local Medicaid provider has been charged with fraud, according to a report.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A local Medicaid provider has been charged with fraud after he allegedly billed the program for providing face-to-face treatment when he was out of state, according to The Journal-Inquirer. Tarik Abdulaziz, 50, of Kate Way, was arrested by inspectors from the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney.

He was charged with first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community and health insurance fraud.

Abdulaziz allegedly received $13,650 on 113 claims he submitted for face-to-face treatment of brain injury patients in Connecticut. He is alleged to have been in Texas during this period from June 2018 to January 2019, according to The Journal-Inquirer.
