Windsor Locks Man Faces Drug Charges After Chase
Enfield police say the man refused to pull over and was found with crack cocaine after officers flattened his vehicle's tires.
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Windsor Locks man faces drug and driving charges after an Enfield police chase ended with all four of his vehicle's tires flattened, police said.
Angelo Abair, 42, was arrested Oct. 8 on Hazard Avenue in Enfield, according to an Enfield Police Department release.
Detectives and patrol officers tried to stop the vehicle near 155 Hazard Ave. after determining that the driver's license was suspended and a passenger was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Police said Abair had approximately 26.5 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of a white powder and 2.5 grams of a blue powder.
The white and blue powders were not tested at the scene because officers were concerned about possible fentanyl exposure, according to the release. Police did not identify those substances as fentanyl.
Abair was charged with illegal sale of a narcotic substance, illegal possession of a controlled substance, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, interfering with an officer and driving with a suspended license.
Police said he was held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Oct. 9. The release did not provide the outcome of that scheduled appearance.
The charges are accusations. Abair is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
