Windsor Locks Native Joins Vernon Police Force

Windsor Locks and Suffield natives have joined the Vernon police force.

VERNON, CT — Two new Vernon police officers were sworn in on Monday.

Charles Vogt grew up in Windsor Locks and graduated from Windsor Locks High School in 2011. He earned a degree in sports and leisure management from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2016 and was a member of the ECSU baseball team.

Matthew Guilmette grew up in Suffield and graduated from Suffield High School in 2014. He is currently attending Central Connecticut State University as a criminology major. He is a member of the CCSU Rugby team.

They began a 44-day training period after being sworn in at Vernon Town Hall on Monday, police chief James Kenny said.
