Windsor Locks Obituary: Gina Remotti, 95

Gina (Ghezzi) Remotti, 95, of Windsor Locks, wife of the late Pietro “Peter” Remotti entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, in the comfort of her home.

Gina was born February 8, 1922, in Variana, Providence of Alessandra, Italy the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Gugliemone) Ghezzi. Gina and her husband along with their son, Claudio immigrated to the United States in 1947 and shortly after they became US citizens. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Church and prayed to rosary daily. She enjoyed sewing and tending to her garden, but enjoyed cooking traditional Italian meals for her family.

She is survived by two sons, Claudio Remotti and his wife, Margaret of Windsor Locks, Louis and his wife, Susan of Windsor; her five grandchildren, Michele Remotti of Windsor, Melissa Remotti of Camarillo, CA, Jason Remotti and his wife, Dawn of Goleta, CA, James Remotti and his wife, Sonia of Windsor Locks and Mary Remotti of Windsor Locks; six great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Peter, Alexander, Tyler, Zachary and Isabella Remotti; three brothers, Giulio Ghezzi of Windsor Locks , Mario and Dino Ghezzi in Italy. Gina was predeceased by two sisters, Teresa Bottaro and Angela Ghezzi and a brother, Giovanni Ghezzi.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Monday, September 4, 2017, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
