The dog is described as a female German Shepherd weighing about 50 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink collar. Recovery volunteers say the dog is friendly but may be scared.
Police and recovery volunteers are stressing that residents should not call out to the dog or attempt to chase her if spotted, as that could cause her to run farther and complicate recovery efforts. Instead, anyone who sees the dog is asked to immediately report the sighting.
