Windsor Locks Posts Comeback Win on Historic Night
A senior captain eclipsed a scoring milestone, while a last-second game-winning shot pushed the Raiders past Somers.
SOMERS, CT — For the fifth time in the game, Windsor Locks senior Raelynn Voislow watched her shot from just beyond the three-point arc sail through the net. This one, however, was a bit different than the previous four.
Voislow's trey with 5:26 to play in Thursday night's game at Somers enabled her to surpass the 1,000 point mark, becoming the 10th Raider girl to eclipse that plateau. Just as importantly, it moved Locks into the lead for the first time since the game's opening minute.
That lead quickly dissipated into a seven-point deficit, however, and all looked bleak until sophomore Addy Pelletier canned a three-pointer with just a half-second remaining on the clock, providing the Raiders with a thrilling 45-44 victory.

Voislow, who entered the game needing 18 points to reach 1,000, got out of the blocks quickly with five points in the first five minutes, then drained a pair of three-pointers in the second quarter, giving her 11 points at intermission. Despite her offensive prowess, Locks trailed 24-22 at halftime.
The offense slowed considerably for both teams in teh third quarter, netting just six points apiece. Voislow's output consisted of just one made free throw during that eight-minute span, leaving her six short of the mark.

That all changed in a 50-second span of the fourth quarter. Voislow hit another trey, then a two-point basket before capping the run with her milestone shot from outside, which pushed Locks in front, 36-34.
Somers came right back to reclaim the lead, stretching it to 44-37 before Voislow nailed her sixth three of the night with 1:38 to play. A Voislow layup cut the deficit to 44-42 and set the stage for Pelletier's dramatic game-winning heroics.
Voislow finished with 25 points and Pelletier had 13 for the Raiders, who improved to 9-7 and have already qualified for the Class S state tournament.
Marianne Dalessio had 19 points for the Spartans (4-11), while Erin Novak added nine.
