Windsor Locks Schools Announce Retirements, Resignations
Longtime WLHS art teacher, a WLHS assistant principal and the school system business manager leaving later this month.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — The local school system recently said goodbye a few of its educators, some of whom are retiring and others, simply, moving on.
At last month's Windsor Locks Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools Shawn Parkhurst said veteran Windsor Locks High School music teacher Judy Schober was retiring when the school year ends later this month.
He said Schober has been at Windsor Locks for more than 11 years, saying she will be "sorely missed" and "everyone has enjoyed her drama/musical productions over the years," according to school board meeting minutes.

As a result, the school voted unanimously to accept her retirement and it offered her "sincere appreciation for all of her efforts on behalf of the students of the Windsor Locks Public Schools."
In addition, two school administrators have announced their resignations, both of which become effective later in June.

Parkhurst said WLHS Assistant Principal Carrie Apanovitch had submitted notice of her resignation, effective June 30.
He said Apanovitch has been with the school district six years.
Meanwhile, Parkhurst said Windsor Locks Public Schools Business Manager David Sollin has also submitted his resignation, effective June 17.
Parkhurst offered both the school system's "appreciation" for their efforts, according to meeting minutes.
School board members concurred, offering a unanimous vote accepting their resignations and offering their thanks.
