Windsor Locks Teen Charged With Sexual Assault

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - A teenage boy is facing charges that he engaged in sex acts with a 12-year-old girl at her home in Enfield when he was 15, the Journal-Inquirer reported. Azriah Stevenson, 17, was charged with first-degree sexual assault for the November 2016 crime.

The girl told police that Stevenson raped her, while he says the act was consensual, according to the Journal-Inquirer. However, according to state law, in this case consent is not relevant, as it is illegal for anyone more than two years older than a child younger than 13 to engage in any sexual act with the child.
