Windsor Locks Urges Residents To Register For CT Alerts

The town said many people assume emergency alerts come automatically, but that is not always the case.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Town officials are asking Windsor Locks residents to sign up for both CT Alerts and the town’s Everbridge Emergency Communications System so they can get emergency information quickly when it matters most.

Local officials said the alert systems are used to send real-time notifications about severe weather, flooding, hazardous material incidents, transportation accidents and other emergencies that could affect the community.

Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Director Michael Sinsigalli said one of the biggest problems is that some people think they will automatically get those alerts, when that is not always the case.
