Windsor Locks To Vote On Repeal Of Sex Offender Ban

A ban that prevents sex offenders from being in some public places will be voted on this week.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - A ban of sex offenders from some public places will be the subject of a vote Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., at Town, the Journal-Inquirer reported. The vote comes after an anonymous citizen and an advocacy group filed a suit against the town over the 10-year ordinance.

The ordinance prohibits registered sex offenders from being in "child safety zones," such as schools, the library, and parks. However, the lawsuit claims these restrictions violate the First and Fourteenth amendments.
