Woman Accused Of Stealing $3K In Lottery Tickets In Windsor Locks

The woman is also under investigation in connection with numerous similar robberies in seven other north-central Connecticut towns.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A woman suspected of stealing more than $3,000 worth of lottery tickets from a local business was arrested Thursday by Windsor Locks police, and remains under investigation in connection with numerous similar robberies in seven other towns.

Christy Gonzalez, 35, of no certain address, was charged with third-degree larceny, assault on police and escape from custody. She is being held by the Department of Correction in lieu of $250,000 bond, and is due to appear in court Sept. 24.

An investigation led Windsor Locks detectives to Hartford, where Gonzalez was attempting to cash a lottery ticket in the Garden/Nelson/Martin Street area. She fled police and a foot pursuit ensued. Following a struggle, she was taken into custody; she attempted to escape, but to no avail, police said.

Gonzalez is considered a primary suspect in numerous similar robberies, where force was used and weapons implied. Other jurisdictions evaluating their cases include Wethersfield, Newington, Enfield, Manchester, Simsbury, East Windsor and Windsor Locks, police said.
