Woman In Windsor Locks Elder Abuse Case Reaches Plea Deal

A South Windsor woman facing elder abuse charges will not serve jail time.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - A South Windsor woman accused of accused of purposefully pushing an elderly patient out of her wheelchair pleaded guilty to reduced charges and will serve a year of probation, the Hartford Courant reported.

Christine Christensen, 62, was initially facing charges of third-degree abuse, second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree assault of an elderly person, which would have resulted in a one-year mandatory minimum jail sentence. Police said that surveillance footage from Stonebrook Village, a senior living community in Windsor Locks, shows Christensen pushing an 83-year-old woman down the hall July 9. Christensen appears to deliberately push the woman forward causing her to fall to the floor.

The elderly woman suffered injuries to the left side of her face and her left arm. She was given medical attention following the incident, police said.
