ACT Smooth Jazz Affair: Tom Browne and Friends

ACT Smooth Jazz Affair: Tom Browne and Friends on Nov. 28 at Palace Theater

ACTJamsProductions.com presents A Smooth Jazz Affair in the Palace Theater orchestra lobby hosted by the one and only Al “DJ ACT” Taylor.

Friday, November, 28 starting at 8:00 p.m.

The night will feature a concert by Jazz trumpeter Tom Browne and his friends, Connecticut’s own Steve Clarke (bass), Ron Howard (drums), John Davis (keys), Mike Battle (guitar) and special guest vocalist Barbara Fowler. The evening will also feature a musical tribute to Donald Byrd.

Described by George Benson as “joy filled in expressiveness,” Tom Browne has 20 solo recordings under his name, as well as numerous projects as a side-man with artists like Bob James, Dave Grusin, Joe Sample, and Wynton Marsalis. He has topped the Jazz, Adult Contemporary, and R&B charts with his kicking trumpet and rich jazz melodies, which have included the hits “Funkin’ For Jamaica” and “Thighs High (Grip Your Hips & Move).” To learn more, visit www.tombrowne.org.

After the concert, guests are encouraged to take to the floor for an Old School Dance Party featuring everyone’s favorite ‘80s and ‘90s R&B hits spun by DJ Steve Watson.
