The non-denominational not-for-profit Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. is selling fundraising raffle tickets for ticket purchasers to win prizes at the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce’s 11th Annual Duck Day and Race on Sunday, June 5th. The event is held to raise funds for more than 65 area nonprofit organizations and it is one of Connecticut’s largest duck race-related fundraisers. Deadline for ticket sales is Thursday, May 26.
“In 2014,” stated Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta, Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director, “our organization won a $500 prize for selling all of our ducks among the 20,000 rubber ducks that raced down the Naugatuck River that year.”
Promptly at 2 p.m. every year, rain or shine, 20,000 rubber ducks are dumped from Naugatuck’s historic Whittemore Bridge at the corner of Maple and Water Streets to race down the River to be among the first 25 to cross the finish line. Raffle tickets for the 2016 Duck Race to benefit Acts 4 Ministry’s fundraising ambitions are now on sale and will also be sold on June 5th. Tickets must be purchased in order to be eligible to win 1 of 25 prizes.
