Nearly 60 Acres in Woodbury Added to Flanders Land Trust

The land trust helps landowners protect their property for future generations to enjoy.

The Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust has preserved an additional 62.5 acres of land over the last six weeks, the Republican-American reports.

A nonprofit corporation chartered in 1963, the organization acquires, preserves and manages land to promote the understanding and appreciation of the environment. According to their website, Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust leads the campaign to preserve the Woodbury area’s special places.

According to the paper, with the acquisition of the new land the trust now has 2,100 acres of property that is protected from future development.

Arthur Milnor, the organization’s director told the paper the acquisition was a significant accomplishment for both the organization and for Woodbury.
