Agriscience College and Career Fair in Woodbury a Success

The event was held to inform students about career and educational opportunities in the field.

The Woodbury Future Farmers Association Alumni and Parent Support Group held its 15th annual Agriscience College and Career Fair at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury on Tuesday.

Over 150 current students, parents and graduates attended the College and Career Fair, the organization announced in a press release.

The event aimed to inform current agriscience students about agricultural college programs available to them upon high school graduation and to introduce them to a wide variety of agricultural careers.

Several graduates of the Ellis Clark Regional Agriscience and Technology Program who are now employed in agricultural occupations in the surrounding areas were invited to attend to showcase their accomplishments.

Representatives from several colleges from the surrounding area were also present at the event.

Each year, over 75% of the Ellis Clark Regional Agriscience and Technology Program graduates continue on to college, most of whom attend a two or four year agricultural college program.

The Ellis Clark program at Nonnewaug is the largest and most diverse agriscience and technology center in the state, with a long history of state and national accomplishments and recognition for excellence in teaching agricultural education and preparing students for agricultural careers.
