Amber Alert for Armed Man, Infant after Multiple Homicide

Matthew Slocum last was seen traveling southbound on Interstate 91 in Connecticut, officials said.

Police say they're looking for a 23-year-old New York state man wanted in connection with a child abduction and multiple homicide.

Matthew Slocum (pictured) “is wanted for questioning for a homicide that was committed early this morning in New York state,” according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Michael Popovics.

“We believe Slocum is travelling with his girlfriend, Loretta Colegrove [age 25] and their child, Raymond Slocum, age 4 months,” he said in a press release.

The pair may be traveling in a black two-door 2003 Ford Mustang with New York license plate DED1769.

Slocum may be armed and holding the woman and their child against their will, police said. They were traveling in Adams, Mass., at approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday, Popovics said.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the vehicle last was seen on Interstate 91 in Connecticut traveling southbound.

Anyone who sees Slocum or Colegrove or their car, or knows where they may be, should call 911.

Slocum is described as 5-feet, 11-inches tall and 195 pounds with brown hair and possibly swastika tattoos on his forearms. Colegrove is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 194 pounds, with long straight reddish brown hair, “typically worn pulled back with a white or light blue scrunchie.”

“She was last seen wearing a light blue tank top with thin straps, blue jean shorts and flip flops,” Popovics said in his statement.

According to the Hartford Courant, Slocum has family in West Haven and may be headed there. Slocum took the child from White Creek, N.Y., in Washington County, according to the Courant.

State police in Massachusetts and New York have issued an Amber Alert for the boy.
