Anti-Butterly Sign Removed in Woodbury

The controversial sign had been displayed in the town's Historic District.

WOODBURY, CT — A controversial sign against First Selectman William Butterly, Jr. has been removed from Woodbury's Historic District.

"Butterly, Utterly, Utterly Disappointing," graced the lawn of the home of Tom Arras on Main Street, and officials threatened to take Arras to court if he didn't submit an application for the sign, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

The sign, which had been on the property for some time, was considered permanent by the Historic District Commission, hence the need for an application.
