Antiques, Vintage And Tag Sale to Benefit Litchfield Jazz Camp Scholarships
April 18-19th. Early Buying Party 4/17 at 6:30 with live Jazz, nice eats and drinks, and a chance to buy some lovely items at great prices!
Litchfield Performing Arts announces its first ever Antiques, Vintage and Tag Sale for the benefit of Litchfield Jazz Camp and the charitable organization’s other educational programs. The event will open with an Early Buying Party with great live jazz, refreshments and a chance to be the first to buy. The party will be held 6:30 pm to 8 pm Friday, April 17 at St. Michael’s Church House on South Street in Litchfield. The sale continues on April 18 and 19.
The idea for this unique fundraiser came from New Milford antiques dealer Gary Pelletier, the proprietor of On the Hunt—a Life Style Design Store on Church Street. Gary became interested in Litchfield Jazz Camp when the camp and his shop coincidentally took up residence in the historic town of New Milford at virtually the same time last summer. LPA’s Executive Director, Vita Muir happened in late one afternoon and met an assistant salesperson who happened to be a guitar player who she knew would benefit from the total immersion and training at Litchfield Jazz Camp. She welcomed him to camp for a week, Gary attended this young man’s student concert and the rest, they hope, will be fundraising history. With a barn full of items his shop could not possibly absorb, he offered to donate the lot to the cause, and Muir happily accepted.
Among the antiques offered are an Edwardian flip table, an 1880’s Belgian tile cookstove, Victorian and Queen Anne mirrors, dressers, clocks, china, chandeliers, jewelry stained, glass panels and much more. Vintage pieces include Drexel Heritage sofas and chairs, Ralph Lauren dinnerware, a 1940’s Duncan Phyfe dining table and more. Tag sale items range from decorative pottery and glassware to housewares, all in good condition.
