Area Singers Invited to Join the Connecticut Choral Society

You have the opportunity to join one of the top five choral ensembles in the state: the Connecticut Choral Society.

The Connecticut Choral Society (CCS), under Artistic Director Eric Knapp, invites singers (high school and above) to audition for the 2014/2015 season. Prospective members are invited to attend any September rehearsals as guests before committing to join the chorus. Rehearsals are held Monday evenings (7:30 - 9:30 pm) at the South Britain Congregational Church Hall (693 S. Britain Road, Southbury).

The 2014/2015 season will consist of four concerts: Candlelight & Carols Concerts on December 20th and 21st, featuring the world premiere of Prayers from the Manger (a Christmas suite by singer and composer-in-residence Ron Dukenski), seasonal pieces with full bell choir, and Eatnenmen Vuilie (from the movie Frozen). On April 25th and 26th, CCS will join with the New Jersey Choral Society and the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra to perform Verdi’s Requiem at the Naugatuck Valley Community College Fine Arts Center in Waterbury.

The Connecticut Choral Society, established in 1980, consists of 75 auditioned singers representing over 20 towns. The ensemble was recently named by WTIC as one of the top five choral ensembles in the state. CCS is committed not only to presenting choral music of the highest artistic quality, but also to “making music that makes a difference” in our communities.
