Another Burglary in Middlebury: Police Ask for Public's Help

The burglary occurred tonight - Wednesday, Dec. 21.

 

At approximately 8:50 p.m. today - Wednesday, Dec. 21 - were dispatched to a residential burglary on Whittemore Road, also known as Route 188, just a few houses up from Route 63.

The residents left the house around 7 p.m. and returned a short time later to discover their residence was entered by a back doorway, according to a press release from Lt. Richard Wildman, sent at 10:26 p.m. today.

Some jewelry and electronics were taken.

Officer Edward Demers and K-9 JJ were able to track to a small dirt pull-off on Whittemore Road on the right, just about 50 feet in from Route 63.

Some fresh tire tracks were visible.

Police are seeking the public's assistance. Anyone who may have driven by this area and who may have seen a vehicle parked there between 7 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. is asked to call the Middlebury Police at 203-577-4028.

Officer Fred Marcantonio is the lead investigator in this case, assisted by Officer Todd Adams.
