Car, Purse Stolen In Woodbury, Search For Suspect Continues

A car was stolen from one house and a purse was stolen from another car on the same street Thursday morning, State Police said.

WOODBURY, CT — Woodbury Police are searching for the suspect who stole a vehicle in town and swiped a purse from another vehicle, State Police said. At 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, police received a phone call in regard to a purse in the roadway in front of a house on Scuppo Road.

Police said a purse was taken from a vehicle that was registered to an address on Scuppo Street. The victim stated that she had cash and credit cards taken from the car, State Police said.

Her credit card was reported to be used at a store in Thomaston. While investigating that purse incident, police said another resident of Scuppo Road reported their car was stolen at 7:35 a.m.

A 2017 Subaru Outback was in fact stolen, police said. A purse containing numerous credit cards was also taken along with the vehicle, police said. The stolen vehicle was found in Bristol and processed.
