Congrats! Woodbury FFA Chapter Sends 11 to Nationals

The Woodbury FFA (For the Future of Agriculture) chapter located at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury will send 11 state-winning teams.

The Woodbury FFA (For the Future of Agriculture) chapter located at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, CT will be sending 11 state-winning CDE Judging teams later in October to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. Because the Woodbury FFA members won first place in 11 different state FFA judging contests during the past school year, there are 47 students from the Woodbury chapter who will attend the 87th National FFA Convention.

In 2010, the Woodbury FFA chapter set a new national record of having 11 teams qualify for and compete at Nationals in the same year from the same chapter. This year, they tied their own national record, again placing first in 11 different Career Development Event Judging competitions during the 2013-2014 school year, qualifying them to compete nationally this fall in Louisville and compete against the best teams from each state in the country.

Thus, the Woodbury FFA Chapter is the ONLY CHAPTER in the nation, out of over 7,300 FFA chapters and over 620,000 FFA members nation-wide, to be sending 11 teams to national competition from one chapter in the same year. No other FFA chapter besides the Woodbury FFA has ever accomplished this feat in the 87 years the National FFA has existed.
