Portraits by ShawnaLee offered guests to her art booth a chance to win an event sketch during the Catherine Violet Hubbard Sanctuary's 2024 Butterfly Party in Newtown CT.

"Leo", Lorraine's companion, is the subject of her winning entry. Leo is very shy except with Lorraine.

The 6x8" pet portrait event sketch was created from photographs that Lorraine provided the artist after she learned that she was the winner! Now Lorraine has a cherished portrait of Leo that also reminds her of the love that Catherine held so dear for all the animals.

Catherine’s Butterfly Party is a FREE family festival with mega pet adoption event held on a Saturday in June every year at Fairfield Hills Campus in Newtown, CT. This incredible community event hosted by the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, celebrates the life of sweet Catherine Hubbard, a devoted animal lover who lost her life during the Sandy Hook Tragedy. The annual butterfly party welcomes thousands every year and features hundreds of adoptable animals from 30+ rescues, live wildlife ambassador demonstrations, pet-related vendors, local artisans, food trucks, live music, entertainment and endless activities for kids.
