Connecticut Boarding School Settles Sex Abuse Lawsuits

A boarding school has settled two lawsuits by former students who claimed they were sexually abused by faculty.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A boarding school in Connecticut has made payouts to settle two lawsuits by former students alleging they were sexually abused by faculty members decades ago.

They are the latest in a series of claims against the 250-student Indian Mountain School in Salisbury over educator misconduct in the 1970s and 1980s.

Attorney Antonio Ponvert is representing plaintiffs. He said Thursday that the payments are a start to closing "this very sad and very tragic chapter" in his clients' lives.
