"Creative Crafters" Seeks Volunteers and Supplies

The Watermark's Crafting Group Looking for Plastic Bag Donations

The Watermark at East Hill today announced it is recruiting members and plastic bag donations for a new group called “Creative Crafters.” The group, which meets every Friday at the senior living community, crochets mats out of plastic grocery bags, which will eventually be donated to the St. Vincent DePaul Mission in Waterbury.

Creative Crafters is now looking to recruit volunteers to help them flatten, fold and cut the bags before they are made into mats; no prior crochet experience is required. Members of the public who would like to participate are encouraged to attend the next meeting, held each Friday at 1:00 at The Watermark, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.

“This wonderful group is a great way for our residents and guests to socialize and be creative, while at the same time use their time and talents to do some good for our greater community,” said Melinda Lovelett, Community Life Assistant at The Watermark.
