Donate Cars 4 Wishes Featured on WFSB Channel 3's Better Connecticut with Kara Sundlun and Scot Haney
On Channel 3 WFSB's March 29 Better Connecticut show, Kara Sundlun spoke to Donate Cars 4 Wishes CEO Denny Gates and the CEO of Make A Wish
On March 29, 2016, Channel 3 WFSB’s episode of Better Connecticut featured all of our favorite celebrities! Kara Sundlun interviewed the CEO of Donate Cars 4 Wishes, Denny Gates, the CEO and President of Make-A-Wish CT, Pam Keough, and a family that benefited from 2 wishes from Make-A-Wish CT! Kara and Dennis even donated their own car to Donate Cars 4 Wishes.
Denny Gates made sure he mentioned that the donor of the vehicle receives 100% tax deduction for the year it is donated!!
Make-A-Wish CT felt that the previous car donation program they were affiliated with, Wheels for Wishes, wasn’t giving enough back to the cause. Wheels for Wishes was only giving approximately 20% of the money raised from car donations to Make-A-Wish. Make-A-Wish CT severed its affiliation with Wheels for Wishes in September 2015 when Donate Cars 4 Wishes was established, and now is exclusively affiliated with Donate Cars 4 Wishes.

Donate Cars 4 Wishes was established to give more back to Make-A-Wish CT. Much more. “Right now, 70% of the funds from Donate Cars 4 Wishes goes straight to granting wishes. And he [Gates] hopes to get that up to 85% soon.” Funds given to Make-A-Wish CT are created by selling donated cars at wholesale.
The donation process was created to be very easy! There are 3 pilot programs for vehicle donations that mimic trading-in a vehicle. They can be found at Scranton Motors in Vernon, Gates GMC Nissan in North Windham, and Columbia Ford in Columbia. Instead of trading-in your vehicle, you can tell them that you would rather donate it to Donate Cars 4 Wishes instead. It is really as simple as that!
